Blueberry smoothie

The breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so no matter what I always insist on eating it. It gives me focus and energy for the day and most of all, a great start to my day. An empty stomach can be a frustration that you don’t need at all. Breakfast is necessary for you to be at the top of your game. However, some days are busier than others and you don’t have time to sit and prepare yourself a nice bowl of yogurt and fruits with a delicious coffee or tea on the side. In those days, smoothies are a really great help to ensure that I have all the nutriments that I need. Most weeks, I always have few smoothies in the fridge that are already prepared to consume. I like to make them during the weekend, therefore on those stressful morning, I know that at least I have something to eat on the go. They are always easy to carry and consume when moving. These make for great breakfasts as well as snacks and I never end up wasting any.

The thing I love the most about smoothies is that each time you make them, they always end up tasting different. There are so many combinations with different fruits and ingredients that it always tastes like something new. This recipe is a great start to give you new ideas, but you can really play with it and change the recipe so that it fits with your taste and preferences. You can have three different types of frozen fruits and go a long way with that.

It is also a great technique to make your children eat some source of fruits. You can also find a way to add some greens without them suspecting or tasting that it is any different.

Moreover, it is a nutritive snack, a smoothie is always filling in a healthier way than the empty calories chewy bars. You can control what you put in it and the sugars are only natural. Effectively, the fruits contain natural sugars and pure maple syrup doesn’t contain any form of additives. Therefore, it gives you the necessary amount of sugar, so you have energy to complete your daily tasks, but in a healthy way. It can also be a great snack before a training because it is just the right amount of filling, but without it being too heavy and give you cramps.

Truly, the benefits from the smoothie world in your routine are endless and it is something that should be embedded in your lifestyle.

Ingredients

-1 cup of frozen blueberries

-1 pitted and cut peach

-1/4 cup of silken tofu (or a bit more if necessary)

-1 tablespoon of pure maple syrup

-1 cup of almond milk

Instructions

1. Put all the ingredients in a mixer and mix until you reach a smooth texture.

Note: If you want your smoothie to be more filling, you can add chia seeds. These will give you a lot of nutriments and will sustain you for a longer time.
