Maple and ginger salmon

People often say that you should eat one or two portion of fish each week, when you add everything, it can be daunting and hard to know how to reinvent this dish and ensure that it doesn’t become boring. This salmon recipe is one that you will want to make again and again because it is really simple, but the flavors are pretty amazing. Let me tell you, this dish will never be boring. The ginger and the maple syrup is a dynamic duo that really elevates the plate.

The biggest challenge with the salmon is that more often than not, we think about a salmon that is dry and chewy. It seems quite hard to make a salmon that is tender and soft. This recipe will give you the salmon you are looking for. On my part, it is my personal favorite, because it’s fast to make and it goes well with any sides.

Ingredients

-1/3 cup of pure maple syrup

-1/3 cup of water

-1 tablespoon of fresh grated ginger

-1 clove garlic

-1/4 teaspoon of grounded cayenne pepper

-450 g (1 lbs) of salmon

Instructions

1. Place the oven rack in the top of the oven (10 cm to the heating element) and preheat the oven to broil.

2. In a saucepan, boil all the ingredients except the salmon. Let it reduce by half.

3. Put the salmon on a cooking tray with aluminum paper. Brush the salmon with the marinade. Cook the salmon for about 8 minutes, the cooking time depends of the thickness of the salmon. Brush the salmon with the marinade a few times during the cooking.

4. Brush the salmon when out of the oven if there is still marinade.
